This is a very early ESP Strat. The neck and the body are original to each other and were manufactured by ESP Japan in 1983 as a custom order guitar. The guitar was originally made to accommodate a vintage tremolo.

All modifications from original are mentioned in this description. As we can see by the early 1983 Floyd Rose Philips head tremolo posts it was fitted with a first generation prototype Floyd Rose tremolo at some point probably in 83'-84'. That is what I was told. I purchased this from a known Glam Era guitarist friend some decades ago. The Floyd Rose system was retrofitted to the guitar in the early 1980s by a luthier in Hollywood California and was a perfect job in every respect. Recently we put a 2019 Floyd Rose Limited 1984 model tremolo system onto the guitar and the improvement was well justified making this ESP ultra-perfect and ultra-usable for any live show as it stays in tune perfectly.

This has been one of my personal guitars for a long time and over the years it has been loved and improved and also restored to its current glory. The pickup is a vintage EMG 81 and has a very creamy full tone. With the mahogany body and maple neck I get a nice full mid range out of a Marshall Plexi amp and ultra-sweet lead tones when performing. Its ready for you to use at a live gig or just shred at home.

If you take a closer look you will notice that the Schaller tuners are non-original as the guitar had vintage tuners from the ESP factory. The Schaller tuners are period correct 1983. The single humbucker pick guard was a modification done in that same time period mid-1980s. Pickguard change was also professionally done modification we have displayed with a photo ( see photos ). The maple neck is what ESP is famous for and has the ultimate comfortable feel and neck shape! The frets show very little to no wear and the whole guitar operates 100% flawlessly. Its the best-of-the-best ESP and an awesome find for its next owner.
