Our guitars are luthier grade instruments painstakingly accurate with ultra-superior manufacturing tolerances. These surpass the tone and playability of those original 1980s MTV guitars by far. This is a 2019 AXN™ Custom Guitar manufactured 100% by hand.

After many questions from KISS fans about the details and specifications I’ve decided to list some photos of the guitar. ( i will add more info soon Check Back ).

——————————————-

This guitar was meticulously cloned from Bruce’s original mid-1980s ESP M1 which now resides in the Hard Rock Cafe London England.

I have researched in detail Bruce's original KISS era guitars and calibrated every finite detail cataloging the data. Even with this guitar residing across the pond at the Hard Rock Cafe in London Bruce and i were able to record its vital data and unique 1980s ESP details.

Using a paint-guy friend that specialized in vintage Corvette restorations i was able to recreate the finish in the image of Bruce’s original Flip Flip Burst. The paint color flips from light blue to purple depending on the direction of the light. Bruce and I both love the paint job!

The necks quarter-sawn rosewood fretboard has a flame maple back with a walnut skunk stripe. Of course the AXN neck has my famous hand rubbed 1980s style oil finish. The body is two-piece center joined hand picked prime alder. Bruce prefers a light guitar and alder wood has become a logical choice for Bruce.

Bruce’s and i were able to isolate his current neck preferences and the neck profile he preferred in KISS. I installed Dunlop 6105 frets to preserve the vintage Rock-n-Roll feel of the original ESP M1 Strat.

My new AXN has our custom machined, and made in the USA, AXN™ SuperWide™ sustain block mounted to a new Floyd Rose ‘84 limited edition tremolo 2019 model in black. Bruce loves his Seymour Duncan JB pickups so i put a vintage 1986 Duncan JBJ in there wound by Juarez to keep the vintage metal tone!

Original 1985 ESP Flip Flip M1 Guitar

The original KISS era M1 guitar was manufactured for Bruce by ESP in ‘83-’84 when ESP was just in their infancy as a guitar brand. The original 1980s M1 guitar was painted in-house by ESP in “flip flip” purple/blue burst colors.

I understand who the luthiers and the paint shop foreman were that worked for ESP in that year 1983. Many of those Japanese gentleman have passed on. Yet there is some guitar paint finishes and artwork that carry on a legacy of creative work that i can pinpoint and attribute to certain individuals that contributed to the success of ESP. This golden era surrounding the year 1983 was important for Electric Sound Products..

Bruce started using his original ESP Flip Flop in early 1985 live and in the studio and it can be seen in many photos from that part of the KISS era. Bruce also used his original Flip Flop ESP in an instructional video during that era.
