Authentic 1985 ESP Holy Grail Guitar

We paid a pretty penny to get this guitar into our shop. The guy that had it would not let it go for cheap. It is a players guitar yet very collectible. The guitar is a factory original ESP guitar with some modifications by the previous owner and also there was a complete restoration.

Firstly we must disclose the following. We can see the guitar had been professionally restored and brought up to NEW condition. It is evident that there were modifications and upgrades such as shielding paint, some new wiring work, an input jack some time ago, and replacement pickup rings and pickups added. We applied a new logo on the headstock where the original had been previously. Many of the original ESP factory components still remain. Many of the original ESP factory components still remain. It is ESP manufacturing that can be accurately dated to late 1985 to 1986. The ESP inspectors markings can be seen in the photos of the inside neck pocket of the body and on the heel of the neck. These confirming that the neck and the body were manufactured by ESP to be one guitar. The neck is a perfect tight fit to the body. The ESP markings match and are visible in our photos. The neck plate is the kind that has been seen representing custom order ESP guitars or "Order Made" as the Japanese refer to it and have a 5 digit serial number as custom house ESP neck plates are known for.

We can disclose that both the pickups appear changed.... The bridge pickup looks to be a vintage ESP LH-150 and the neck a new zebra humbucker. In the photos, we can see the professional wiring work which left the original ESP switches and an ESP volume pot. The frets show near-to-no fretware and are the original ESP frets. Again, factory original guitar with professional modifications. Yet, still a collectors item. The rear control cavity plate is a known early 1980s ESP shape and confirms that date period for ESP as 1985.

After purchasing this we professionally relic'd this guitar. Aging it revealed a 2-piece prime ash wood guitar body that you can see in the photos. Along with the exotic wood body the neck is the famous ESP one-piece maple quartersawn neck. We  added one of our boutique brass blocks and a new set of springs to the Floyd Rose tremolo.

This guitar is in pristine structural condition. We have performed a set-up and inspection and use this guitar in our studio band room quite often now. This guitar absolutely ROCKS and we love it! This guitar is ready for you to play and is ready to use live onstage ... its perfect in every way.
