1986 Kramer JK1000 Fiesta Red Sammy Hagar Guitar

$0.00

This is an authentic collectors item 1986 Kramer JK 1000. This Kramer is a collectors item and its an authentic Kramer Neptune New Jersey era guitar. The guitar is in excellent condition with only dings and scratches.

The neck heel and pickup cavity markings confirm that is was made at what could be considered ESPs artist relations or an ESP's custom house at that time in Tokyo Japan. We've seen these markings on "ESP Vintage" artist model guitars and guitars that were logo-ed "ESP Craft House".The neck profile, fretboard radius and fret size is EXACTLY  the same as a 1983 Holy Grail Baretta Kramer neck. and those details represent a neck profile NOT found on any other Kramer necks. These details are one reasons we are firm with the price.

Sammy can be seen using the same model kramer guitar in the following video where he appeared on David Letterman circa 1987..

https://youtu.be/kll0-A4_BsY

Sammy Hagar also was pictured with the same model JK1000 guitar on the cover of his 1987 "Give To Live" Single

The body is made of great looking Alder and 2-piece. Likewise the neck wood is crafted from choice maple and rosewood. The quality is much much higher than any USA marked Kramer guitar. The body tremolo control cavity route is the type seen on very early Kramer guitars and of the kind/shape seen on Kramer guitars made in the mid 1980s at the Shibuya Custom Shop ( Shibuya Craft House ) in Tokyo Japan.

This JK1000 was found in Europe without a tremolo installed; we put one of our high end AXN tremolos on there with a boutique brass block ( fact; these JK100s came from the factory with Black Floyd Rose tremolos in 1986 ).  In addition the previous owner removed the JK1000 words from the headstock. He like a lot of others just did not understand that a JK1000 guitar is in most cases of higher quality than any USA labeled Kramer. JK 1000s are misunderstood and are the Top-Of-The-Line Kramers from the vintage era. We put an appropriate "Cant Drive 55" Sticker on the front and Johnny from AXN guitars went ahead and signed the headstock in the appropriate place.

For those wondering, the color of this Kramer is of course NEVER EVER seen and we can testify that the fiesta red color is indeed a factory Kramer paint job which is more evidence of a special run of guitars from ESP. There are NO other Kramers with this factory fiesta red color. As well the zebra pickup is a factory install and its a ESP LH-150 humbucker which at the time was an ESP version of a custom wound EVH PAF...

Sammy Hagar used a JK1000 live in the Van Halen 1987 period and on the Van Halen DVD Live Without A Net which makes sense as this is a 1986 Kramer. The entire guitar is in excellent condition with absolutely NO cracks in the wood.  Its ready to play upon arrival to you!
