Made in Japan Authentic 1986 Kramer JK1000 in Black

This is the never seen 1986 Kramer JK1000 with a maple fretboard in factory black paint. The 1986 Japan Kramer catalog does not mention a one-piece maple neck with a maple fretboard but some were produced. We have completely restored this guitar.

We did a complete inspection and restoration. We took apart and completely rebuilt the Floyd Rose adding our AXN Steel Sustain Block and some stainless steel screws for excellent tone. The Floyd Rose was original to the guitar and now its better than new. We also did a professional fret dressing to the original frets which had very-little-if any fret wear to begin with. Its a from the ground up restoration and pro setup. Ready for you to use at a live gig or just shred at home.

The original owner informed us that there is a crack at the headstock low E tuner which has been the same for decades ever since he lived in Japan in the 1980s. We inspected this issue and it does not go all the way through as it was not a break. As well we have determined it is absolutely stable and a non-concern a non-issue. ( see photos ).

We have a thing for JK1000s and this version really is seldom seen. It gets in to territory like other collectors guitars where there were only so many made with certain features like a one-piece maple neck. In this case for this early 1986 we would estimate a couple hundred, maybe less. We correctly dated the guitar as an early 1986 by the volume pot marked 86' and the neck which shows it was manufactured in 1985.

This JK1000 different from the many JK1000s we have owned has a maple body and that one-piece maple neck that boasts the exact same neck shape, neck radius, frets and other specification as a 1983 Kramer Baretta Holy Grail Kramer. This one is an R2 Floyd nut. Except for the nut size all these are the specifications that Eddie Van Halen gave to Kramer as his playing preferences and they put those into the neck of his signature model in 1983. We know many of you are interested in that and very few of all the production JK1000s kept those neck shape specifications. Its because in 1986 Kramer Japan introduced this as an EVH model with advertising and a brochure. Later in 1987 ( actually some time in 1986 ) the JK1000s specifications all changed a lot.

There are many cosmetic imperfections on this guitars because its been a player. Also the Schaller allen wrench holder on the back of the headstock is an add-on and not factory. The original owner used this for live gigs as he was a performer in Japan. There is a lot of buckle rash on the back of the guitar. This indicated that it always had great tone and is an awesome player . It was the guys go-to guitar for live shows. We can confirm its got great tone and explain that tone as magical. The whole guitar has mojo of its own. You will not be disappointed!

Theres other cool stuff. The tremolo posts have the short lived brass sleeves in the body, period correct 1986. Its got the unique tremolo carve/route in the rear tremolo cavity. Of course slanted humbucker route. The neck has an awesome skunk strip up the back!
