Vintage 1998 Charvel Refinement LP Guitar Model R-S85

This is a vintage Charvel Model R-S85 manufactured in 1998. This model appears for the first time in the 1999 Charvel Jackson Catalog and is the TOP of the line for that year. In all likelyhood there were less than a few hundred made.

After the heyday of Jackson Charvel in the early 1990s the factory making Charvel Guitars in Japan and the Ontario California Jackson headquarters collaborated on a this and a few select models in the line. This Les Paul is an example of the awesome result of Jackson engineering and the Japan Factory's custom shop level of quality.

We have a traditional shaped guitar hybridized with the playability, performance and comfort of a Jackson Soloist. This guitar is a Set Neck, two piece center-joined mahogany body and mahogany neck with Indian Rosewood fretboard and shark fin inlays. Its a 22 fret design that includes the exact same neck profile and feel of a vintage Jackson USA Soloist. With fret edge binding and the in-famous Jackson Compound Radius Fretboard. 

This guitar is 100% original. The pickups are Jackson J-80s in both the neck and bridge position. They are a perfect match to this guitars wood type. The tailpiece is the Charvel Branded CDT-100 Tailpiece that is synonymous with the Charvel Surfcasters. The Tune-o-Matic bridge has recently been replaced with a new Gotoh tune-o-matic that is a duplicate of what came on the guitar when it was manufactured in 1998.
